Wall of Fame

Featuring Scalpel at the Cross

Orthopedic Missions Work in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle

Welcome to our Wall of Fame.  We are proud to feature these people and organizations who are giving their time, talent, and treasures to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate.

Featuring our friends, Kelli Hooks and Lisa Schroder of "Scalpel at the Cross"

Scalpel At The Cross is an orthopedic medical missions organization, founded by Dr. Peter Cole and his wife Nancy, in 2004.

The following year, after a 12-year, successful career in the orthopedic implant industry, Lisa Schroder joined the organization as Missions Director.

Lisa, and Kelli Hooks, both of Rochester, Indiana, coordinate getting the medical supplies, equipment, and the volunteers to the medical camp in Peru.

Just six years later, it is amazing how much this organization has accomplished, and how many lives have been impacted.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Kelli and Lisa through our interactions.  They are good stewards of their resources.  They work very hard to ensure that they secure the quality medical equipment and supplies they need while keeping the cost as minimal as possible.

Letter explaining the program, and how it got started:  Click here to read more
My heart has been inspired for some time to write a newsletter geared towards those doing missions and  non-profit work.  I want to explain what we do, and how we can work together....  More..,

Special Thank You to the facilities and individuals that have provided donations.  We received our first donation of disposable medical supplies in April of 2008.  This donation has propelled our project.  So far, these supplies have made it to the Dominican Republic, Peruvian Jungle, Africa, Bangladesh, Mexico, and now Haiti.

Simply stated:  The supplies are donated to us and we facilitate getting them into the hands of those who can use them.  They are free to missionaries and non-profit organizations.

Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world.  Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”  ~Margaret Mead
